Welcome to Terme di Saturnia, our “Casina” is completely immersed in the wild and unspoiled nature of Maremma and can be the ideal starting point for excursions to discover the territory, Terme di Saturnia and Cascate del Mulino the villages of Saturnia, Montemerano, the Tuff City, Pitigliano, Sovana and Sorano, Capalbio and the Tarot Garden, the beaches of Argentario, the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago and much more!

La Casina

La Casina is a separate accommodation not far from the main residence where the owners live, giving you the chance to spend a relaxing and rejuvenating holiday in complete independence and privacy. La Casina is recently built and has been completely made of stone, it has a large outdoor porch, perfect for relaxing while admiring the view offered by the surrounding countryside.

La Casina consists of an equipped kitchen (dishes, burners, fridge) with living room and sofa bed, a double bedroom where it is possible to add a cot (on request), a bathroom with all the comforts (soap kit, towels, hairdryer) and it has heating/air conditioning.

Included in the stay is breakfast, with cakes, biscuits, toast, jams and many other tasty preparations to start the day in the best way! In addition, you receive a gift for your stay (a small bottle of oil, a bottle of wine or another company product).

La Casina Farmhouse is located just 9 km from the Terme di Saturnia and Cascate del Mulino (about 15 minutes by car).

This territory indeed hosts some of the most beautiful villages in Tuscany (Pitigliano “The Little Jerusalem”, Sovana the ancient Etruscan “Suana”, Sorano “the Matera of Tuscany”, Saturnia with its thermal waters, Montemerano one of the “Borghi più Belli d’Italia” Manciano “The Spy of Maremma” for its 360° panorama that ranges from the sea to the mountain, Capalbio and the “Tarot Garden”, Scansano and its precious “Morellino DOCG”, the Argentario promontory and its crystal clear waters, the Tuscan archipelago with the magnificent islands of Giglio and Giannutri… in Maremma every day will gift a unique and unforgettable experience!

Saturnia

Saturnia is one of the oldest villages in Italy and one of the most important testimonies of the Etruscan-Roman presence in the Maremma territory. The village is famous worldwide for its thermal waters, but it is also a must-see for its historical evidence, here in fact you can still see the ancient Roman Gate that stands to protect a stretch of the Via Clodia and the remains of very ancient Roman columns. A very short distance away, we also recommend not missing the visit to the Archaeological Area of Puntone and the Castellum Aquarum (in the nearby hamlet of Poggio Murella).

Terme di Saturnia and Cascate del Mulino

By choosing La Casina Farmhouse, you will have the chance to be just a few minutes away from the famous Saturnia thermal spa, and one of the most beautiful natural sites in the world: the Mulino Waterfalls. The sulphurous waters of Saturnia spring at 37.5°, with a flow of about 500 litres per second, and boast numerous and excellent properties, known all over the world. The beneficial effects act on the cardiovascular, muscular, skeletal, respiratory systems, as well as having a real detoxifying effect. You can enjoy these benefits either by visiting the Saturnia thermal spa, which offers baths, pools and an elegant spa where you can treat yourself to massages and treatments, or by going to the Mulino Waterfalls. At the waterfalls, you will be amazed by the beauty of the place, and the power of the water jet, thanks to which you can have a regenerating experience.

Montemerano

Delightful, welcoming and scenic, Montemerano is one of the Borghi più Belli d’Italia and certainly one of the most beautiful attractions of the Tuscan Maremma. It is an ancient village of medieval origin that still maintains its original architecture, offering visitors the opportunity to live almost a journey into the past. Its narrow alleys, arches and panoramic views are just some of its prerogatives… not to forget its characteristic city wall that, seen from above, has a romantic heart shape!

The Tuff Cities

Originally chosen by the Etruscans and then by the Romans for their settlements and cities, the Tuff Area is today one of the most valuable archaeological testimonies of the Tuscan Maremma. Here you can find the evocative “vie cave“, the ancient roads carved into the tuff by the Etruscans and used as roads but also as a defence in case of enemy attack (the walls of these roads are several metres high). Here are born the villages of Pitigliano, also known as Little Jerusalem (here in fact from 1500 a large Jewish community settled and built a Synagogue, still visitable today), Sovana “Suana” for the Etruscans, birthplace of the famous Ildebrando di Suana, better known to chronicles as Pope Gregory VII (known above all for the episode of the meeting at Canossa) and finally Sorano that, for its particular conformation, has also been nicknamed “The Matera of Tuscany“.
